• The ache in my knees every time I realize that the kids I know—younger relatives, family friends’ offspring—are now approaching college age.

There's a short section where Sanzo remembers some of the messed-up stuff he went through as a kid. I felt like it's short and vague enough not to warrant a tag, but please keep that in mind when reading this.
